The movie isn't that good if you compare to the book. However, the movie is overrated. The real thing is in the book right from MARIO PUZO THAT MADE THIS POSSIBLE!

id have to disagree, the book is simply not as good as the film. puzo didn't really mean for it to be, he wrote the book relatively quickly to try and earn some money. the prose in the book, while good, simply cannot stand up to the greatness of the film

you van´t compare a book with a movie. the book is really good, puzo tries to explain how ruthless murderers can also be great family people, and just eat a plate of pasta whil talking about killing somebody.. you really get the fealing you are there. the movie on the other hand is so great because of the actors, and the music and the scenes.. the storyline isn´t worse or better than the book
