Then we will distribute the podcast by submitting to Podcast search engines found at Podcast411 (www.podcast411.com).

Useful.
Hwever, may i point out that a 'normalize' tool has nothing to do with spikes in the audio, and indeed nothing to do with compression (unless that is selected in the options).
Normalize merely raises the audio level so the loudest point is at zero db.
Normalising should always be carried out BEFORE de-noising, as the executing the normalize tool will (ALWAYS) add noise.
