Well DeftCrowMk2.. I personally agree that Mikaels voice does have a great clean sound to it when he's singing because it really just give the song a, if you would, sad sound flavor to the song. But I cannot say all other bands clean vocals suck. I mean look at Scar Symmetry or (Christian Alvestams new band) Solution .45. His clean vocals are pritty sweet too (but entirely different than Stannes). Point is that theres some other good metal vocals out there, give em a lil credit plz :]
