Video Description: Here are 150 yards of uncalled penalties from Super Bowl XXXVI when the Patriots faced the Rams. The video quality is very bad, but I downloaded it like this years ago from a site with this and more that mysteriously vanished from the internet. I did my best to try to sharpen it, but it didn't help much.
I don't agree with several calls in this video, but 75-85% of these are excellent points.

This is flat-out lame.... if Rams fans have to console themselves by blaming the officiating, well then, you know what, they don't deserve to win a super-bowl. This one or any others, this is sad.... it's football, you go out there and play, it's tough, and yeah, they're going to be some missed calls, but you play through it. Folks, this was the super-bowl, had the Rams "deserved" to win, they would have. Blaming the officiating is sad.

1# receiver was held, which is an automatic first down. (plus, he got cut blocked below the waist. 3# was a blow to the quarterback's head. 7# and 8# are helmet to helmet hits in situations where the refs are supposed to give special attention to enforcing the rules, since the players are in vulnerable positions (in the grasp of a tackler, and passer throwing the ball). 7# was a blatant face mask of the fifteen yard variety.

Also, look at the crap that was called on the Rams in that game. Conwell had an OPI called on him on the first play in the above video when he nudged a defender coming right at him. He didn't even have the ball thrown to him. Also, that doesn't even mention the muggings of the Rams receivers that went on, plus, the uncalled intentional grounding on the final drive

Stop bitching about this. It's not going to change the score. If you have noticed in the playoffs, the refs let the players play. The officiating crews for the playoff and super bowl games are the best refs for that season. Maybe if this was a mid season contest the refs woud throw the flag for every time the QB got touched or there was a "hold."

Not a Pats fan, Dallas fan. I remember watching this game.
The real case you should have is why when the Pats were dropping 7 into coverage, why didn't Kurt Warner dunk it off to Marshall Faulk more? Why didn't Mike Martz run the ball more w/Faulk in the backfield?
The things that killed the Rams in that game was: 1) Marshall Faulk underused, 2) The two STL turnovers that led to 14 NE points, and 3) The Rams scored too quickly to tie the game and left too much time on the clock.

It was proven the Patriots cheated when spying on yhe Rams final walk through. Plus Belicheck also payed the wrefs to not give us those 150 yards. They also cheated in the 2008 game againdt the Rams. We did not get one call and yet you dicks still barely won. I wish people could be able to see that the Patriots hold and pay refs without mercy. So fuck you Patriots.

These aren't even the penalties that mattered. The ones that changed the game and allowed the patriots to win despite a 427 to 267 difference in yards and 26 to 15 difference in first downs for the Rams was the fact that the Patriots held the Rams receivers and Marshall Faulk the entire game only getting called for it once. This stuff is just icing on the cake (though many of them weren't exactly blatent). Isn't going to change anything though.

Just to add to it, here is an excerpt from a story from after the game.
There was one time in the game when Patriots defensive end Willie McGinest was so blatant in his mugging of Faulk that the officials couldn't ignore it. Later, McGinest would say he was shocked by the penalty, "because we had been doing that all game."
This lead to the competition committee instructing the officials to start calling those penalties since they were ignoring them leading to the Patriots strategy.
