10 mins is a HUGE time to wait, dude. It's much better to limit your waiting time to 2-3 mins, but repeat it through the game.

Yeah, odds are normally around 6 that a goal will be scored in first 10 minutes. If goal is scored is within first few minutes odds will go from 1.8-1.9 for under 2.5 to around 1.5 for overs.
You might be better laying first goal time (0-10 min).

dejanuk - would only be any good when laying the first goal time if you got a price that was good value in relation to the stats for the number of goals scored in the first ten minutes.
What I do is to trade and take quick scalping type of profits from a market that is as predictable as can be. The odds always fall in the first 10 minutes when there is no goals scored. The trick is knowing when to get out and knowing what to do if a goal does go in.

Yeah, but for me in play trading is too unpredictable. On some foreign matches, betfair can lose picture and suspend market. It seems delay is mostly 8 sec in play these days, even for some prem matches. Also goal in first few minutes can get odds drifting like a rocket.
I myself trade on score market before kick off.

One big difference about trading unders compared to simply laying a goal in the first 10 mins is that by trading the unders/overs market, even if there is an early goal, you have opportunity to trade out a smaller loss, break even or possibly more profit. Laying 1st 10mins, is win or lose, no flexibility. If there was an early goal, Id BACK unders again! Av odds are higher, meaning less time (therefore less risk) to close out.

JPESQUIRE3 - you are absolutely correct there. The only thing is to note is that you are within your betting limits so that if the worst happens and there is a quick equaliser and you are set for a loss, that your betting bank is still going to be in decent enough shape to be able to keep trading on other games.

I have seen it that putting in double the original bet just after a goal will allow you to trade out to a profit quicker. I have done that and it has worked, but again remember that there is more money at risk.
Another thing is to just wait it out and often by half time if there has been no more goals you will be able to trade out with no loss or perhaps a small profit.

You can do the same with DRAW before the game starts.
The price of a draw at the start of a game is an average of 3.25 the price drops and drops as the game goes on IF no goals are scored.

If a goal goes in early it can be bad but it is not the end. What is important is knowing what to do if it happens.
You can either trade out or put in more money to be able to trade out after a few more minutes of the game. Sometime that can be the worst thing to do but you have to use some football knowledge to make a decision.
I have been successful and made money on a game with an early goal.
In any case you can't base a comment on just one game - long term is what counts with trading
