After extreme and prolonged trauma, anti-depressants with weekly psychiatry saved my life. Having appropriate psychiatric oversight is VERY important. I did not know I was ANXIOUS, but an anti-aniety medicine life not just bearable, but fun, fruitfrul, productive, worth living, like it used to be.
Don't just take pills. Find a good doctor, and if you have to sell the house for a shack to afford it, it's worth it.

Stopped taking it 5 days ago and I can`t sleep,I get upset for nothing and my heart`s acting strange.Also severe moodswings,in fact my entire body feels fucked up.
However I feel more `in touch`with my environment than I was a week ago.

oh good lord...these are a couple of cases when millions of ppl take them...everyone is different...no two ppl that are taking the same drug will react the same to it...what happens when they have a pill that can cure cancer in millions of ppl but it kills 100 of them...which is better? no cure? no one can judge that but look at the results before trying to tell ppl that anti-depressants and A.D.D meds are bad...they do help..

Side effects are not worth it. Take natural equivalents.
There will never be a cure for cancer from the medical establishment. There are already natural cures with thousands of documented cases.
You are right about a drug affecting each person differently. You'll never know what you're going to get.

sumtimes the money is a big factor,so much so they push it past the trials & right to market..but then sum of them do it in the proper way..u just have 2 research what ur taking & ask ur doctor about the side effects..and i would bet in a lot of the cases where death is a side effect there were also side effects bfore that, that would tell them it will kill them..such as severe headaches..its all in how ur body responds to the drugs & if ur smart enough 2 go 2 ur doc when the side effects hit.

By asking this question you are assuming that depression has one cause: biological. Depression has many causes: biological, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
Most depression is situational--a person's life sucks, they become depressed...

In some people cases, depression is caused by a side effect of a medicine they have to take (heart medicine, diabetes etc). There is also clinical depression thus meds might be their only hope. Success rates treating depression are higher than those that fail. People must be monitored.
I myself suffer from Akathisia, which is triggered by some meds, meaning that I have to stay away from antidepressants. I do believe these drugs could save the life of others who have serious clinical depression.

I'm in total agreement with you. When people are depressed, it's mostly situational. They've had career problems, relationship problems, and other issues in their life....
As for herb, I think St. John's has been cited in studies. Then there are nutrients such as l-tryptophan and 5 HTP which is derived from l-tryptophan. Other nutrients include Omega 3 fish oil, GABA, l-phenylalanine and others...

No. Including intentional drug overdoses/suicide would be over 236,000.
But the number could be a lot higher because let' say a person has heart disease, they take a pill for heart disease, then they die. Did that person die of the heart disease or the side effects of the drugs? It's usually recorded as a death from heart disease.

Antispychotics like Geodon Abilify Zyprexa Risperdal or Risperidone and Seroquel are bad. Please go to Yahoo and type in the phrase "Horrible Truth About Psychiatric Drugs". Also do the search with the phrase "Documented Proof Psychiatric Drugs Shorten Lifespan". Shocking and revealing information no psychiatrist will tell you.. Be sure to include the quotes.

No such thing as a safe anti-depressant, it's all a bunch of bull. Psychiatrists will prescribe anything for profit, deadly side affects such as a sudden drop in blood pressure, arrythymias, changes in personality such as increased hostility, and the list goes on. Your better off with alternative methods and plenty of excercise.

Rubbish. I have worked with hundreds of people who are taking antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilisers, hypnotics, anxyolitics or stimulants. I have even met some unfortunate people who have been prescribed ALL of them. Of all these people, only a handful have had the kind of positive response to their medication that the drug companies and psychiatrists would like us to believe occurs. Lazy shrinks don't even screen for physical illnesses which give rise to psych symptoms these days.

this is a deep subject. I enjoyed the video:Tom Cruise IS Right About Psychiatry. It did not surprise me how many ppl cannot see the wisdom of Tom's words expert or no. Or that half-brains kept saying he called PPD fake when he did not. Videos like this and the other are important to help others learn the truth about the poison's being put in our bodies. Even the side effects are disturbing and they only admit to a few disasters by prescription drugs.

Let's look even deeper; what happens to a world of ppl stuck on legal drugs? Look into the proposed gun laws and what it says about who can and cannot own guns (ppl on some legal drugs); no wonder they don't want parents to discipline their children-> so they can convince them their children suffer from so disorder that needs legal drugs...COME ON.
