AH! That final bit in the clip with the "Entertainment TV" jingle! I remember that one all too well from when I was on a youth camp in Thornton back in September 1989, and that was the jingle used for the then Six Network's last-ever ident theme, complete with the original Six logo and the slogan "Now That's Entertainment".

P.S. They would've had to have waited until New Year's Day 1990 when they took STV8 on board before swapping the Six brand with the VIC brand, using the same jingle. I think SES8 also used this same jingle from 1989 to the early 90s (with their own version of the Six logo) because they too were part of the Six Network.

some other Vic TV trivia: unlike other regional networks that took metro programming, Vic TV (and Southern Cross in Victoria) took the best from 7 9 & 10 right up to aggregation day. Vic TV's last programme as an independent was the movie "The Flamingo Kid". In 1991 Vic TV was the only regional Victorian broadcaster to air "The Simpsons" but was taken off air after 8 episodes due to complaints.

SES-8 shared resources eg. branding/imaging but was independently owned by local interests (Allan Scott was the last) from inception until WIN bought out the company.

Looking at this Southern Cross clip ?v=hCcPzvQI7Z4 which I uploaded myself BCV-8 shows a clip of the Simpsons and that was recorded June 1991. Some other Triva SC was showing 60 minutes in '91
