Perhaps because we get only so many Top Gear episodes.. Watching Fifth Gear isn't bad as we wait for the next Top Gear. I actually think that Top Gear should get a bit more technical/mechanical in its presentations. Sometimes, when they are testing out cars I feel like all I'm getting is what I can see with my own eyes and not much more. I love Top Gear, but I would like them to get into the science of it a bit more.

Visit the VW and the Honda retailer and go for a test drive with both cars. Then look which one brings you more fun. Then take a look into the cataloque and look for the equipment and specifications. But I would suggest to you that you go for the one that brought you more fun while driving!

Ahh, k, I know now what that means. ^^ But why? I think the Civic Type-R is the better car. I can't see in this video why the GTI should be better. It is slower and with the same equipment even more expensive than the Civic. Oo

He's saying that most people don't drive their "hot hatchback" extremely hard everyday. 90% of the time they're still using it as a daily driver. The Civic R is faster and comes to life when you push it, but the VW offers plenty of fun and a good everyday driving experience. The Civic isn't as good all around. That's what I got from this.

see in the US we don't get the type r, so for me the competition goes to the GTI hands down, but if we were to have a type r, I might actually have a hard time deciding which one of these to buy, unless of course the civic is manual, then its the GTI hands down again...

The Civic here in Europe is only available without an automatic gearbox. That really sucks. It's a big plus for the Golf with it's DSG automatic gearbox which makes it even faster than with the manual gearbox.
