Video Description: Exeter Twp. FD (Berks County, PA) Engine 2 responding to a call while we were at a parade in Gibraltar. I was driving the squad, so I didn't go. It was something BS anyway.
Engine 2 is a 1997 Saulsbury. Total audible warning devices: Federal Signal Q mechanical siren, Federal Signal PA-300 electronic siren, Show-Me Powercall electronic siren, and air horns. It was pretty loud when it went past, but it was music to my ears.

As an update to my statement, the ambulances and some of the engines have electronic Q's, but I've heard some real Q's around.

Powercall electronic siren, PA-300 electronic siren, Q, and horns. They were leaving a parade so they were showing off a bit. In the other response videos from ROFOCOWBOY, this same rig responds with only the Q, or Q with Powercall.

I posted an explanation, but I guess it didn't go through or something, so thanks, lol...We've done both electronics a few times, but that was more when we just got the Powercalls, or if there's heavy traffic...at least in this truck, in the others the original electronic sirens were replaced by the powercall, E2 was the only that has both.

Well, there is a chord going into the cab, but it's not really used during responses, sometimes at parades if we can't use sirens. So yeah, I guess it's mainly for decoration and tradition's sake...

Not quite sure. When they first put Powercalls on the trucks, they ordered one for each. When our old Rescue got hit and they stripped it, our one Asst. Chief took the powercall because his PA300 was in the process of dying. I hope they put one on soon, as I'm not a big fan of the Code 3 in there now...

its a back up alarm its been proven in a lab that powercalls confuses drivers when responding casue it sounds like a backup alarm. its bad to run 2 sirens at once confuses drivers. thinks 2 things are coming from difernt direction. and powercalls just sound so damn gay on fire trucks. q and air horns only is what a real fire truck sounds like goin to a call

It's been proven in a lab?! Oh no, then it's got to be true!! Last time I checked, labs and the streets are two completely different things. And if drivers thing more than one truck is coming, they'd be more willing to get the fuck out of the way, something that they don't readily do...

If they think anything about running more than one siren, why do they produce dual amplifier sirens? If anything, the old Federal "alert" signal is the worst, not a powercall, since the frequency goes up on a powercall, whereas on the alert its steady. This guy has no clue what he's talking about.
