Video Description: I built the ball machine because I thought my dog Jerry, might like it and that it would be something fun for me to build. So after two years of on and off work, with many safety features such as IR proximity sensors to protect Jerry and my son from the machine, I finally complete.
Far from being a replacement for me, I was always right there with him enjoying his fun. And with all the troubles that I went through to build the ball machine, I still end up throwing more balls than that the machine could count! According to the computer, he played with the machine by himself only 3 times in his life.
I recently put this video on YouTube to keep alive my earlier memories of him and (hopefully) provide some "humorous distractions" for anyone that might drop by.

dude you should try and sell this as a living it would keep dogs occupied from driving people nuts... hopefully, I have my doubts about my dogs because they are nuts as it is but its worth a try.

This video is spectacular on so many levels. I like the fact that your dog is smart enough to run to get the ball even before it is launched. Of course he is cute as heck, too. It's very cute that Jerry only played with it on his own 3 times LOL! Also, that invention is incredible. Great video post!

I know people like to demonize things without thinking. You can see he's actually there enjoying the dog while videotaping, his invention is nearly an extension of himself. Also the dog just might want to play fetch more then he inventor is able to do, and this gives the dog an option to play like this, even if no one was available to play.
If anything, this is a great show of his affection for the dog, not a show of dislike for spending time with the dog.
