i really like this video for beginning players that don't understand what odds are. its a good foundation for a starting play but as you get more advanced i don't believe that memorizing odds of any given hand(s) is going to be enough. i would recommend buying a book that explains how to do the math so your never at a "crossroads" for an answer during a game.
i still like the video though, nice post.

Yeh Its a good video for beginners, but it doesnt state the number of players in the game, which would obviously affect the odds shown in the video.

yeah, that's true. but you can't assume that players have or don't have the spade or club what ur drawing to.. It makes it to complicated, so best to play the odds like you're the only one in the game.

how come the chances of flopping a set or better are bigger than just flopping a set????

I don't get it. There are 13 types of cards in a deck, 4 of each number. So, the odds that you'd get a particular card, say a 9 is 1/13. The chances that you'd get two 9s is thus 1/26, which is 3.8% on a given deal. Where do they get 5.8%?

First card doesn't matter. Second card is then 3 out of 51. So to hit a set: 1 x 3/51 = 5.88%.

Why is the chance higher to get two 9's than two Aces?
There are 4 Aces in a 52 deck and 4 9's in a 52 deck... so why are the odds different???
