Jennifer, if you had this guy have his body guard throw you in a dumpster like he did me, you'd have an attitude about him too. He's not a nice guy, and he's not as talented as say shahid parvez. You want to see some serious talent, look up shahid parvez on youtube. That's a real master.Vilayaat Khan or Pandit Jazraj, there's so many more people who're better and kinder people than ravi shankar. Americans... there's more to life than what you see in your boxes and cliques.Shankar's just a fad.

u don know wat u r toking abt. Many people here saw sitar playing for the first time and they were very understandably blown away.N here u are trying to be the wise ass and tell people that they are easily impressed? Thr r othr fantastic sitar players but tht doesn't make Raviji's playing a least bit less interesting and majestic.I'm very familiar with his work and you are just raving here.its like saying if u r new to metal music dont be impressed by Iron Maiden.they r just famous.

No doubt about it: Ravi Sahnkar is very talented; a great sitar player and musician. Unfortunately, also owner of a huge ego...that is harmful for any artist, I believe. And it reflects on his music: A style more suited to show off rather than to be musical...but still, to each his own. I prefer pt Nikhil Banerjee (best sitarist who ever lived), pt Jazraj or Kushal Das, just to mention; never comparing. Raviji briught Indian music to the west, but that does not make him the best.
