yo flameboy is right this game of the name of football because almost the whole game is based on sizes of a foot,as the whole field is 300 feet or 100 yards, also part of rules to advance is to move ball with team 10 yards or 30 feet as sometimes it close to a game of inches, officials put the name sounded the best according to it's rules and football was the one, but the ancestry of this game came from Europe also known as rugby which it's rules are not based on feet
