montel williams was fired or as they say "resigned" 3 days after this appearence on fox news, after making a statemnet about how disgusting the media is requarding our soldiers,it took real guts, and there you go my friends, free speech in america? i dont think so!!, a powerful man and a leader of many SILENCED BY THE POWERS THAT BE!, listen people call and write to all your senators esp clinton and obama who support bill s1959! and tell them to kill this bill! its the thought crime bill reguarding free expression on the web, we're losing our freedoms!, and montel was made an example of!

Montel Williams Loses Job after Defending Troops on Fox News

For just over three minutes on Saturday morning, TV talk show host Montel Williams owned the hosts of Fox and Friends. A former Marine and Naval officer, Montel lectured the stunned hosts on the stupidity of spending air time on the death of Heath Ledger, rather than covering the war in Iraq. It was a spectacle rarely seen on live cable television, as Montel exposed and condemned both tabloid "news" shows and much of American culture for what they have each become: shallow and greedy.
Three minutes into this awkward segment on Fox, one host cut off Montel in order to go to a commercial. Montel did not return after the break. Four days later, after 17 years as a television host, Montel lost his job. Variety reported on Wednesday that the Fate of "The Montel Williams Show" was sealed when key Fox-owned stations opted not to renew it for the 2008-09 season.I have no idea whether Montel already knew his show wasn't going to be renewed, and thus felt emboldened to cut loose on the air, or whether his firing was a result of his actions on Saturday. Either way, Montel Williams exhibited courage this week that few in the television industry ever will. And for that, American troops around the world stand with him. We support him not only because he stood up for the troops, but because he did it on Fox News—a station that has done more damage to the U.S. military since 9/11 than any other.Montel Williams is an American patriot. Though he left the military years ago, he has never forgotten "his"
troops.

it's a shame that people like Montel have their hearts in the right place, but their brains and knowledge out of sync.
he supports the troops so much, that he doesn't realize the fact that all an american troop is, is a gangster for corrupt capitalism and war-profiteering. war is a business, and any decision made before war, during war, and at the end of a war is only in the interests of those who control and profit from it, and not in the interests of the soldiers and the american citizens.

i hope u see this hazy life, i am not a low life gangster... I am something more than a gangster could ever hope to be. And no its not a corrupt government i fight for, its the SOLDIERS to my left and right, something i doubt u would understand. I enjoy the freedom that comes with fighting with my brothers and sisters, i certainly hope u enjoy it as well, because it aint cheap. I don't get it. They had him on to promote his book and take part in topical conversation. Clearly this was a very short time after Ledger's death so that became their topic to start off the interview. If Montel wanted to discuss something else he should have prepared on it. If he had told them in advance they would have been prepared. What was his motivation other than to be a bad interview?

Exactly. Talk shows are supposed to entertain and appeal to viewers and should be allowed some leniency for showing ridiculous things like clowns, psychics, pie-throwing "comedians". News casters should focus more on reporting facts than trying to mimic the entertainment industry.

Stick it to them how?? By not preparing for the topic he wanted to discuss? By not letting them know what he wanted to talk about so they could prepare?? Sorry, seemed like he was just sabotaging the interview they invited him in for to help him sell his book.
