if you're talking about the MH1000 with EMGs and Floyd they're pretty much similar, the only things that change are :
-the neck wood is mahogany on the Hellraiser and mapple on the LTD so the LTD will surely be a little bit brighter
-there is a coil split on each pickup of the hellraiser, not on the ltd, depend on what you're seeking
personally i prefer the hellraiser but it's a matter of taste and it won't differ a lot in the end. but i think the new finishes of the ltd are horrible

i think the emg81- 89 is a better combo than the 81-85......(i just heard it) and it sounds way better than an 85 on clean...so ya i think i'll go for the schecter hellraiser with fr...same price on top of it

I just bought the guitar. I love it. I will agree with you that it is slightly easier to slide over the frets on a nice jackson, but not by much.

the fr comes with the 89 EMG and the floyd rose personally i hate floyd rose just cuz there a pain in the ass. i have the c-1 with the 85 and i love it great tone no problems with sounds great with just about any type of music.

The official specs are a pair of EMG 81TW/89s. Also, they do make it without the FR, but I have no problems with the FR on my Hellraiser.

dude... to be enirely honest i think the sound is nothing special.. try turning the mid down and the bass up more just a tad and try downtuning. get a darker sound.. me being a total satanic metalhead guitarist.. try putting your mid almost all the way down and high to bout 4/10 and the mid all the way down and distort it more. and downtune that guitar. cheers good playing bro.
