on a brushless motor the magnets are on teh crankshaft, or the little rod sticking out of the motor and the electromagnets are on the can so when electricity goes through the electromagnets it turns the magnets on the crankshaft. On a brushed motor the magnets are on the can and the electromagnets are on the crankshaft so the motor needs brushes to supply the electricity to the electromagnets on the crankshaft. The brushless motor is way more eficient and faster
