Yes, its like an America Fellini film. But people focus on its deep sadness but he understood just as he's being Killed that he had it all. As he's bending over the family pictures, just before he's killed he realized he had it all!

SarahLeeAnn - this movie was about someone who hates their life and he's the only one he knows who's doing anything to make their life feel more complete. One reason is because a young woman is fascinated by him. He learn to love life, yet his flaw is that he humors the fantasies of an underage girl. He redeems himself when he realizes that Angela really is a child and stops himself from taking advantage of her naivety. His is finally happy and he has redeemed himself.

In a weird way, I kind of see it as a happy ending because he dies finally happy before his life has a chance to be turned upside-down again by his inevitable divorce from a cheating wife and losing his daughter (since she decided to run away). Because he will get divorced and he only has a fast-food job he would also inevitably become depressed again and the character's journey that we witnessed would then be pointless. The guy finally caught a break when his life ended.

I just felt that the only thing this movie had going for it was the acting. Not that the plot or character development was bad, it was well done; I just found the characters unrealistic together. None of them were very realistic in my opinion. I understand everyone has flaws, but each character had more bad qualities about them than good qualities. Not saying give us some Mary Sue, but come on.
