2) Other banks will crash and burn because the American banking system relies on banks loaning each other money for short periods of time: if they can't borrow money from another bank, they go down.

Yes, to some degree, however I see that the various banks involved seem to be losing stock value. Both candidates for President are singing the same tune, which is to cause the socialistic conversion of Wall Street and the decline of the buying power of Americans.
