dude.. stand with 8 of your best friends and give some crazy German a Gatling gun.. your mission is to disarm his post... you are 10 miles away and can only go towards him you have small obstacles the Germans used to hinder heavy vehicles such as tanks from landing on the beach to use as defense and a small bank about 8ks up the beach at high tide... good luck surviving.

its not easy as you think man they needed the planes for other areas they there was more germans in other bunkers farther farther away near denmark so they moved in on the ones in france so they thought they had a chance....which they did and they won just this place wasnt as heavily crowded as the other beachs.

It's a great movie. I remember Spielberg saying something about wanting to make it as accurate as he could, no matter how violent, to educate 12 year old boys who think war is glorious. Back in 1990, my uncle described to me what that day was like for him on Omaha Beach, and I would have to say that the movie very much depicted what my uncle described.
My heartfelt thanks to all veterans!
