In the original japanese game M.Bison was meant to be a play on words for Mike Tyson. However that was changed due to a possible law suit, so they changed the names of those three characters to be more appropriate.

that would make sense, seeing as ren doesn't exist, you monkey nut, you monkey ball, you monkey face, you monkey. These guys are trained professionals, they kill for fun, but then they kill for money, coz they realise that can't just live on fun alone and that they need to feed their kids and wives, but many don't have wives or kids, so they just feed themseleves, and as i've stated they can not survive on fun, but yet they need food, which is brought about by money. Man, this is the reason why people get confuse about the name every time I talk about street fighter. How can the original names are wrong? I played this version like 12 years ago before it even released in U.S. Balrog (U.S)---> Bison (Original), Vega (U.S) ---> Balrog (Original), M.Bison (U.S) ----> Vega.

Vega's original name was Balrog, but because of the name change, he was forced to take who is now known as M. Bison's name, Vega. That completed the name changes for the American version. Our Balrog was originally Bison, Our Vega was originally Balrog, and our M. Bison was originally Vega. Understand now?
