Last observation. I was fooled at first by the Broadway and ?2st street sign. Its an overlay. Note the black and yellow car waiting for the pedestrians to walk through. This is a typical Buenos Aires taxi and also a Fiat which isn't sold in the U.S.

It looks like Buenos Aires to me: the tube station could be Line D, the taxis, the bus (No 37 maybe?) - but it doesn't match the american style road signs.

It is definitely Buenos Aires (Argentina), no doubt about it, besides disguising signs is no big deal, either physical or CGI. Most shots taken at "Diagonal Norte" in the capital. As of other monster ads are made in other parts of that country. Looks like it is much cheaper there to produce.
