Only a fish would spew over a cbet in that situation with a low overpair. You're easily beat. You're burning money. Booth is representing a set, 45, or AA at the absolute lowest.
(this is the type of thing btw, that donks get away with b/c good players think they couldn't possibly be that dumb and must have a set. Then the pro figures it out and busts them while rolling his eyes in frustration. And that's why donks stay donks. It's hard to learn in poker if you don't pay close attention.)

Brad Booth made a very poor read and put Phil Ivey on AK and thought if he bluffed all in Phil would fold. Phil Ivey made a terrible laydown. He's apparently "the best in the business" but with horrible reads like this, he does not deserve that title. Daniel Negreanu is a much better reader as seen in the WSOP amazing reads videos. And Andy Black as seen in the Aussie Millions. Brad Booth is lucky he made this play on a donk such as Phil Ivey and not someone with a poker brain.

Dude u have no clue, Easy to say when u can c the whole cards. Just because have an overpair, or big pr, doesnt mean u have to put your chips in blindly. Ivey could be almost drawing dead if booth has str8 or even a set (BTW it was for all his chips, about $260k)....U have to put someone on a hand (or in this what booth is representing). The only thing he can beat is a bluff or a big draw....Keep playing like that buddy, you'll go very far.

In my opinion it was Booth that made a bad play here, not Ivey. He knew Ivey probably had a high overpair (QQ, KK or AA), so I'd say he had about 50% chance of being called with that flop against a 'random player' with an overpair like that. Even if those odds were alot less (say 20-25% or so) it was still not very profitable to make a raise worth 6x amount of cash that was in the pot..

i understand your point, but i dont aggree
he did it because it was ivey, he knows ivey can lay ig hands down if he 'knows' hes beat, and that sets a table image like 'i dont giva fuck about anybody' that later can payout in the future, plus he could easily have a set, calling with for example 77 and hit a 7, ivey knows that, great play in my opinion.

have you ever watched daniel negreanu play...In context? u see many of those "amazing" reads really aren't that amazing. if u played poker, which you obviously don't, you would know that sometimes their hand is evident...sometimes its not. It's not like a magic trick.. poker players make moves that are most consistently profitable, therefore they are quite easy to predict most of the time.. those crazy plays are extremely rare, and u clearly dont see that.

beleive it or not, the 300k is not the big point in this hand, phil ivey's net worth is huge, he can throw away 300k like its paper, the reason why pro's are worried about making calls in these games in for pride, if booth had AA which is very possible, ivey would look like an idiot calling with KK, and he would get youtube'd by many people down playing his skill, 300k is not the reason, it's the " play" that made him fold
