Silencers are a joke-
at least in terms of combate.. they are fun to have though.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, here is some stuff I learned when I was in the service about silencers-
1. As you can see from the vid, a bullet needs to be traveling sub-sonic to be silenced. the speed of sound is 1,250ft/sec... A normal 7.62X51mm round (used in M14) travels at 2,800 ft/sec... So your sub-sonic rounds will be traveling at about
1,200ft/sec and the round weighs 147gr....

The supersonic rounds would have been much louder without the suppressor. While not silent, it still helps, and it reduces/elimates the need for ear protection-which may not be practical to wear in combat. Some military issed rifles now come with suppressor attachments as standard.
While the advantages for rifles may be limited, submachine rounds are often fired below or a bit above the speed of sound, so there would be no (in the case of .45) or only a little (in the case of 9mm) power lost.

Also not to be an ass to you or anyone else calling it a silencer, but look up the definition of the word silence. The device quiets the sound and deadens the muzzel flash ergo suppressor.

The sub sonic rounds I fired were 180 grain, not 147 and a sound suppressor offers many, many combat advantages.

It is interesting how often suppressors are refered to as scilencers. Its everywhere: movies, games, books, youtube...
Dont misjudge me though. I don't actually care (even I was rolling my eyes at my own comment) correcting other people on youtube never seems to come of any good. It Leads to fear, anger, hate ,suffering (like the dark side) HOWEVER leaving piontless long stories explaining my previous actions seems to be Jedi-kosher because nobody wants to leave comments to piontless replies.
