For Windows XP PRO
Click Start
Click Run
Enter gpedit.msc in the Open box and click OK
In the Group Policy settings window
Select User Configuration
Select Administrative Templates
Select System
Select Ctrl+Alt+Delete options
Select Remove Task Manager
Double-click the Remove Task Manager option

OMG you are so a life saver, mine was disabled by a virus, and it showed the dimmed out menu selection for Task Manager, and Start Task Manager was not there, ...
Heres the funny part, mine said 1 which is an ON signal which I understand binary to a point, but it was 1... LOL...
I changed it to 0, which is an off signal...
THANX, WORKED 100% NO BULL...

it sounds like you've got "tinyfootprint" mode on. i think thats what its called. try double-clicking somewhere in the box.
