Ouch, Straight Flush beating Full house. That's gotta fucking hurt. I play poker in casino and I've only seen one person get straight flush from Ace to 5 clovers, and I got 4 of a kind. But man, straight flush? That's insane. But what I don't get is, Bond had 5 and 7. I'm sure Le Chiffre, black guy with pocket of 8s, would've raised before game started. Most people fold 5 and 7. How did Bond stayed in a game? Any Poker pro mind explaining this? Even though 5 and 7 are same suit, i usually fold.

Im definately not a poker pro, but I love playing low suited cards which almost connect.
If there then is a six of the same suit, which connects three im almost at a straight, while my chance of getting a flush also there.
But when I hit the straight, it would be very difficult for them to read the board, because it wont be as obvious. So when you do hit the flop, its easy to get more money.

But I just don't think it's worth paying up huge blinds to play suited low cards. If I have lot of money and blinds/raise aren't that big, then yeah, I would play but black guy with pocket of 8s, asian guy with K and Q of spades, and LeChiffre with Ace and 6 are very strong hands and I'm sure they raised really high during blinds, at least that's what most poker pros do. Although this is just movie, it's amazing how some people still stay in the game and win bcz this happens in real life too.

that half moon thing the dealer does is awesome.
well, about bond going on with his 5 and 7 of spades: besides being a movie hehe, the flop was Ah, 8 and 6s, so a drawing nut. So all Bond needed was a 4s or a 9s, and since there were no pre-flop or turn bets, he didnt fold.

in the movie that woman james is with has a go at him after he loses o those quad jacks of le chiffre's , i dont know a player on the earth who could fold kings full when only pocket aces or jacks can beat him , james did the right thing but got cold decked :( great film. i lost with 7 7 7 7 once :,(

Le Chiffre really had Bond under pressure! Both during the poker game when Bond lost an all in and only got a 2nd chance through rebuy, but also later in movie when he caught him and tortured him! I really enjoyed watching Bond under such high pressure. Bond was almost loosing against Le Chiffre played by the Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen!
